BYOP: Bring Your Own Plywood
The Stompin' Tom Connors Project!
A legend in his own lifetime. A songwriter of extraordinary importance. A man who roved all over this land with only a guitar and a piece of plywood for company. In some inexplicable way, he is the glue which holds this enormous, diverse, brash young nation together.
Now, those brave souls who dwell in the eastern shadow of the continent-shaping Rocky Mountains will gather together in tribute to this musical pioneer. Old and young, known and yet-to-be-discovered, they will celebrate as only those who were born and bred to conquer the prairies can...
Ah, hell. It's Calgary bands covering Stompin' Tom songs. Get it?
BYOP: Bring Your Own Plywood is now available in finer record stores in Calgary, and will soon be available across the country. BYOP is a co-production of SBR and the Catch and Release Recording Collective, one of Calgary's many fine independent record companies. Our first release party was held on December 6, 2003 at the Night Gallery Cabaret – turnout was excellent, and everyone was very enthused.
The buzz is starting, my friends... Check out what the media have been saying about Bring Your Own Plywood.

Our fantastic artwork was created by the inimitable Mr. Tom Bagley (sometimes known as TOMB) whose image for the front cover of the CD perfectly captures the spirit and passion of this project. If you're really liking this BYOP thing, why not get yourself some artwork to go along with it?
We have a limited number of prints of the back cover image (shown above), as done by well-known Calgary artist Tom Bagley, for the low price of $30 (plus $1.50 shipping and handling). If you're interested in picking up one of these prints, e-mail us and we'll fill you in on all the relevant ordering details.
