Charting Like Anything!
Yessiree - The Summerlad's "Themes: International" and Falconhawk's "Here's Your Ghost" are all over the airwaves!
"Themes" has made #1 at CJSW in Calgary, #27 on the national campus/community radio Top 50, and got airplay on CBC Radio Two's national Saturday night programming (that's Radio Three programming, I guess...) on Easter Saturday!
"Ghost" has made #1 at CJSW in Calgary, #27 on CKUA's Top 30 in Alberta, and got airplay on CBC Radio One's national Wednesday afternoon programming (that's "The Roundup") today!
Ya-hoo!

Busier!
Gosh, I almost forgot - The Summerlad are heading out on a little tour in a couple days! Full info is available at www.thesummerlad.com, but basically, if you live in Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, you have a golden opportunity to see the 'Lads live. What could be better than that?
No answers?
Bueller?
See, I didn't think there was anything better than that!
Busy, busy, busy...
Second day of spring - bah. Stupid snow...
Anyway, things are springin' up all over for Saved By Radio! (What a segue...yikes...)
-Falconhawk's new CD, "Here's Your Ghost", is on its way to stores and radio now!
-Kara Keith, Shuyler Jansen, Lorrie Matheson and Robin Hunter are at the Alberta Sessions in Calgary this week!
-Shuyler Jansen and Mark Davis of Old Reliable have gotten their faces on "The Hour" on CBC Newsworld, being interviewed by Jian Ghomeshi at SXSW! (Maybe they can introduce me to George...ooh, George...)
What else...hm. New OR record soon. Alberta Scene in a few weeks. Um...yeah. I think that's all for now - but it's lots, isn't it?

Watch 'n' Win!
And yeah, it might be more of a spiritual or emotional kind of winning, rather than the kind of winning that actually gets you something, but that's not a bad thing either...
Sunday night on MuchMusic's Going Coastal, you can catch the 2005 Much Does Calgary televised extravaganza. The show was recorded back in February, and centred around a live performance night at The Den at the University of Calgary. And SBR was enormously in attendance: Falconhawk and The Summerlad were highlights of the show! You can check out the performances and interviews with those bands at 9:00 pm Mountain time (11:00 Eastern, 8:00 Pacific), repeated at 2:00 am Mountain (you can do the math this time, right?).
More footage of the SBR experience can be seen at zed.cbc.ca. If you search for "Saved By Radio", you'll find the story that Christine Chomiak did on our Western Canadian Music Awards weekend, with performances by Old Reliable, AA Sound System, Lorrie Matheson, Vailhalen, and Tim Hus. It'll be on the main ZeD show eventually, and we'll keep you posted on when that's going to happen.
Consider it a good warmup for South By Southwest next week!

Listen Up!
So The Summerlad's gonna be live on CJSW (campus radio in Calgary) on the afternoon of Friday March 4. They'll be guesting on "My Allergy To The Fans" (which, if you haven't heard it, is a listening experience all its own, due to the craziness of Mr. Chad Saunders...) round about 2:00. 90.0 FM if you're in the Calgary area, or www.cjsw.com if you're elsewhere. It'll be a good preview for the CD release on Saturday evening.
CD releases: Falconhawk's new CD "Here's Your Ghost" is just about ready to hit the public psyche! Get info at Falconhawk's website, and we'll have some more up here soon. (Two discs in just over a year - now that's prolific!)
Shows: AA Sound System is at Holy Joe's in Toronto on Friday night at Canadian Music Week. If you're in T-dot (or nearby), go out and see 'em!
More shows: The Alberta Sessions songwriter series is happening at the Centre for the Performing Arts in Calgary at the end of March. Kara Keith (from FH), Lorrie Matheson, Shuyler Jansen (from OR), and Robin Hunter (from old awesome Edmonton group The Imagineers) will all be performing. Info at http://www.epcorcentre.org/ecmusicseries/alberta.html.
Happy listening!
