Folks On The Road!

Yes, indeedy - we've got SBR goodness in far-off parts of the country right now. Most of it's going to concentrated in the centrally-easterly part of Canada - lucky for all you central-easterners!

In particular, AA Sound System and The Swiftys are going to be at the Folk Alliance conference in Montreal, which starts in just a couple of days (Wednesday, I think...that sounds about right...). folkalliance.net has all the details on when you can see them playing (there's a bunch of times, if I recall correctly). Shuyler from Old Reliable will be there as well, hyping his solo album. And for even more fun, Dawn 'n' Owen are gonna be out there as well! Say hello to 'em if you get a chance (and maybe buy Owen a beer to smooth over that stupid $#!ing lack of hockey...).

After that, the AAers are going to head back down Toronto way for Canadian Music Week (is it that time already? How the year flies...). Lots of details on their web site as well.

And if you're like me and stuck here in the west (dang work), things are going to start happening very soon. The most immediate thing is going to be The Summerlad's unique two-part CD release party on March 5 - part one at church, part two at the bar. I think it's a study in contrasts...or maybe not as contrasting as I think... Anyway, "Themes: International" will get its coming-out party that night, and there's nothing like a debut(ante) to get a rollicking time going!

over 'n' out, good buddies
