Shows to See!
A few, actually...
-Lorrie Matheson's playing Saturday the 8th at Broken City. He'll also be part of a reunited Fire Engine Red (!!!) performing at the 20th anniversary celebrations for CJSW here in Calgary on the weekend of January 15. Check out CJSW's site (www.cjsw.com) for more info.
-The Summerlad (whose new and hotly anticipated album will be coming out early March (!!!)) are playing as part of the High Performance Rodeo at the Big Secret Theatre here in Calgary. Their creation "City Of Noise" runs January 22.
-Help send AA Sound System to Montreal! They're heading out there for the international Folk Alliance conference, along with several other Alberta-type folks like the Rembetika Hipsters and No Guff. There are two benefit shows happening - one in Edmonton on January 22 at the Bonnie Doon Community Hall (call 438-2736 for info), and one in Calgary on January 29 at the Victoria Park Community Centre (call 265-3752 for info).

The Legacy Continues
Well, it's 2005, so the year-end navel-gazing on 2004 is in full swing. Lame as that often is, it's good for Saved By Radio's bands in a lot of ways. Why? Cuz they made a bunch of impact in 2004.
Check it out: ChartAttack.com says puts Falconhawk's "Hotmouth" at #58 on the Top 100 for 2004. Woo-hoo! Hotmouth also made the top lists at CJSR in Edmonton, CKDU in Halifax, and CISM in Montreal.
Actually, CJSR really likes SBR - AA Sound System's "Lily Plain...You're Hardly Poor" was #1 there in 2004, and Bring Your Own Plywood and Vailhalen's "Becs d'Oiseaux" made the top 100 as well.
But that's so last year...stay tuned for what's in store this year!
And go do something nice for someone you don't know.
