News! Big Weekend!
The Western Canadian Music Awards are in Calgary this weekend (September 30-October 3)...
...and that means that Saved By Radio will be rockin' the Stampede City!
Friday morning (October 1), we'll be having an honest-ta-goodness Stampede pancake breakfast down at Broken City (on 11th Ave S.W.). In addition to flapjacks and coffee, you'll be able to indulge in the cowboy stylings of Mr. Tim Hus and his Rocky Mountain Two. Brekkie is served at 10:00 a.m. - come on by!
Friday evening is the official Saved By Radio showcase. Come on down to Brew Brothers (11th Ave S.W., a couple doors down from Broken City) to catch AA Sound System, Lorrie Matheson, Old Reliable and Vailhalen (hot off their kick-ass CD release party). If you're not a WCMA delegate, get yer tix at Megatunes in Calgary or Edmonton, or take yer chances at the door.
Wondering where Falconhawk is during all this? They'll be out doing shows in BC. Catch them at the Railway Club (holy cow!) in Vancouver on Friday the 1st, and at the 50/50 Gallery in Victoria on Saturday the 2nd.
Oh, and up in Edmonton, you can catch AA Sound System at the Sidetrack on Thursday (Sept. 30), and Lorrie Matheson at that same venue (what a strange turn of events!) on Saturday (Oct. 2).
And Stompin' Tim Hus will be on tour in BC in October. Stay tuned for updates on that!

Exciting News!
(besides the fact that Canada won the World Cup of Hockey...)
Saved By Radio is welcoming a new member to the family: Edmonton's AA Sound System (that's "double-a sound system", if you're planning to tell someone), purveyors of what they call electro-roots folk pop. Whatever it is, it's pretty darn cool, and we're excited to have them aboard! Check them out at www.aasoundsystem.com, and stay tuned for updates on how our relationship is progressing!
Other news: Falconhawk is going to be in Vancouver/Victoria at the beginning of October, so keep an eye out for them there. Saved By Radio is going to have a showcase night (and a Stampede-esque pancake breakfast) at this year's Western Canadian Music Awards. Vailhalen's CD release party is next Friday (September 24) at the Liberty Lounge at Mount Royal College (need directions? I can give 'em to ya...). Lorrie Matheson's (yes! Lorrie Matheson!) CD releases will happen in October. It's fun times, for sure!
